This place was first class. From the ease of reservations to checkout, it was GREAT! The place is amazing and breakfast was perfect. Can't wait to visit again.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of days in the lovely Kathryn's room. Boy, did we love it! The B&B has a charm you will only rarely find at other places and the owners, Dawn and Gregg, are the most lovely and sweet people you could ever meet! The room was very clean, the breakfast was sooooo tasty, and the hospitality was simply amazing! We will certainly return for another getaway trip!

My husband and I stayed here for one night -- our first overnight away from our daughter, who's two. I'm so glad we chose Speedwell Forge Bed & Breakfast! The house has been immaculately restored and updated in many ways while retaining the period charm and grandeur of the property. The common rooms are lovely, inviting and comfortable. We stayed in Kathryn's Room, which as noted by the previous reviewer was simply terrific for a romantic getaway! The bed was superbly plush and cozy, and the bathroom was an unbelievable treat with a tile floor heated from beneath and a beautiful glassed-in corner shower. Can we talk about the tub? I am a girl who likes a proper soak and the tub in Kathryn's room was one of the largest and most pleasant I have ever enjoyed. The breakfast was delicious, and Gregg and Dawn are great conversationalists and born innkeepers. Enjoy the "Journal" section of their website before you go!

We just returned home from celebrating our 30th anniversary at your very peaceful and charming home. I must say I wished we had booked more nights but sometimes we let our jobs and responsibilities dictate how we live our lives and the next thing you know time flies by and you don't realize it. Well I realized it today when after the delicious breakfast (thank you Dawn) I had to run to turkey hill to get a camera for more pictures of your lovely home and all the fine restoration work that was done. I turned on the radio in the car and Frank Sintra was on and I thought to myself Its Sunday morning I'm crusing down a back country road drinking a cup of coffee when a bunch of deer crossed in front of me so I pulled over and watched them run off. Then when I pulled away I found myself for the first time in a very very long time just slowing down and actually looking at what I was seeing and pulling over to let people pass me. The Paymasters was just what the Dr. ordered. I haven't spent time like that with my wife for a long time and this weekend reminded me of that. Can't wait to come back and I think its going to be real soon because one night is not enough.
